✏ Purple words and updated scoring for Toppled

In the latest update of Toppled, I’ve introduced a brand-new scoring system as well as a brand new word category: Purple words!

Purple words are anagrams of golden words! If you find a purple word then you know you’ve got all the correct letters of a golden word and it’s up to you whether or not to rearrange them.

Purple words are worth 50 points (double the points of a valid word).

Updated scoring system:

Previously, your score was based on the actions you took during the game:

The penalties of deleting words and failed attempts was to try and, in theory, nudge players to try and solve the wall in one attempt using just four words.

In reality, it just penalised players for finding more words and made things way too complicated.

With the latest update: scores are now based on the four words you use to solve the wall.

This means there are no minus points for deleting words or failed attempts. You can find as many words as you like, you won’t lose points for finding them.

However, there is still a bonus for solving the wall in just four words. This means using the ✏️ draft feature is still useful for trying out four words before submitting them.

Using a clue will still cost you 25 points.

The new purple anagram words above are worth 50 points.

So, the new scoring is as follows:

When you have four words to topple the wall:

Once you have four words to topple the wall your score is locked in. This means if you want to go back and find more golden words they won’t be added to your score, it’s just for fun.

Hopefully this makes the whole scoring system much more simple and fair!
